At Healthy Leadership Group, we don’t guess, we investigate. Our mission is to combine evidence-based approaches with a robust ethical framework to create clear datasets and narratives around the challenges present in modern leadership. By understanding the "why" behind organizational friction, we can build more effective tools for the "how" of healthy leadership.

Current Research Project

The Clergy Boundaries & Wellbeing Study

Healthy leadership is impossible without an honest look at the factors that disrupt it. We are currently conducting a comprehensive research project to measure the frequency, prevalence, and causal factors of boundary crossings, violations, and misconduct experienced by modern clergy.

The Goal of the Study

Traditional models of ethics often ignore the underlying human elements that lead to misconduct. This study seeks to bridge that gap by examining:

  • Prevalence & Frequency: Measuring how often clergy experience misconduct from themselves or others within their ministry context.

  • Causal Factors: Identifying the specific pressures and wellbeing indicators that impact a leader’s ability to live out their call.

  • The Reporting Experience: Exploring the perceptions and realities of how ethical violations are handled within organizations.

“The results indicated that higher chronic stress was related to more deontological moral choices.”

Did you know? Research shows that we are significantly more likely to experience challenges and violate ethical boundaries when our personal wellbeing is compromised. Our research seeks to turn these insights into preventative action, moving from "theory" to "thriving."

Our Commitment to Integrity

Research in sensitive environments requires a foundation of trust. Our methodology is built on three core values:

  • Anonymity: We collect demographic data to contextualize responses, but we never collect information that would compromise the identity of a participant.

  • Confidentiality: Every response is treated with the highest level of security and professional ethics.

  • Voluntary Participation: We believe the best data comes from leaders who are empowered to share their experiences freely and honestly.
